Hey hey, quick update. Not a chapter, but I hope it tides you over.
I didn't really realize it, but the "staffing" so to speak of this story has changed very drastically from its original status. In light of this, I've gone to the profile and changed this information to its most up to date form, and deleted some of the more long-winded explanations for the story into a more streamlined version.
Also, in order to alleviate some of the anxieties on this fic's status, I put in a little "status report" of sorts, also located in the profile. This will be updated as the status of the backlogged chapters change, so in a loose way you guys can see the progress we're making, even if no chapter is being posted. That way the activity during the downtime is shown so you all know we've not forgotten!
Expect the next chapter up soon, sorry for the delays, like usual. Stay tuned for you regular broadcasting!

Okay, just a few things:
I realize that not a lot of people may have much experience with this game, but it's too big a timesink in my life for me not to give it some kind of love. I tried to make it interesting enough without needing firsthand knowledge of it.
Secondly, to all the people who DO play XI, I've noticed that many dealings with it around the internet (like webcomics and such) are primarily handled by San d'Orians. Well, not this jalopy. Read this and tell me which country on Vana'diel YOU think I'm from...
Lastly, I asked the artists specifically to draw the scene from the end. They both did, and it's nice and creepy. I regret requesting that... /cry

Okay, our host site went down recently, leaving multiple pages missing. I was planning on opening my own site for hosting this story as some of the chapters are too large for Livejournal as of late (and to also post up some original work when I get done with this behemoth). However, in retrospect, I decided to just keep it simple and move everything back to LJ so the update not at the whims of a fickle website. So, after some thought I've decided that chapters that are too large for one post will just be split into two - I've already went back and fixed the past chapters. I'm not the greatest at coding, so I think it looks a tad messy, but at least it's all up again.
And OH LOOK IT'S A CHAPTER!
(Also, while I'm embedding Darkval's and RedRiku's pictures lately, please notice I had to link one of Red's in this half. It's gorgeous, but very huge. (<3 you RR :3 )

Also, the chapter title has a double-meaning, but it's a tad complicated, so... I'll put the explanation in a comment later. Enjoy!

I said it would be soon! Muahaha. A couple of notes:
I hope I don't get everyone's hopes up, but the plot for this particular story-arc is from Final Fantasy Tactics and not Final Fantasy XII. I know it's arguable that it may very well be the same World, so to speak, but the story's all about the Palace and Marche and so forth. XII would have been cool, no debate there, but for one thing when this part of the story was created and written XII was only just coming out. Also, I think the FFTA plot fits very nicely with the Kingdom Hearts mythos. That doesn't necessarily mean there won't be a slight cameo of a certain character sooner or later ;)
Also, you'll notice a smattering of German here. The Viera in XII had those cute little accents, and while they definitely weren't German, it made me think of them having their own language back home or something. Also, for their job abilities later, I wanted to give them more exotic-sounding names than just the English equivalents, and I decided that while I translate the English into another language I may as well go the whole mile and have it relate to the Viera themselves. Jae is actually the one who did the translating, and I thought the German names sounded the coolest, so I stuck with it.
...Enough of my senseless babble!

HOKAY!
Here's the update for what exactly is going on:
The lovely dashing daring artists who usually do the pictures for this story are all totally bogged down with real-life stuff right now. I've been trying to wait to see if things would clear up so's we could continue like normal,but after talking it over it seems like that's not going to happen. It's been decided that the pictures will, for the most part, be discontinued or at least scaled down vastly (depending on the artist) until further notice (hopefully summer will give free time to catch-up and stuff). I know that the pictures were a great addition, and I for one will miss them terribly :'<
I'm sorry for not updating in like a zillion years, and I feel doubly terrible due to the emails that I've received and the post on the last entry (soooooooorrrrry!!!!!). Know that it's not as if I've stopped writing or what have you, but snags are hitting this project in an unbelievable sort of way. I know that everyone is spazzy over the fact that this fic will just sort of burn out, as is the fate of many fics out on these wide tubes called the intarwebs. Due to the latest nature of the delay I've got a ton of backlog of the actual writing done, so hopefully I'll be able to get the next several chapters posted very frequently.
So, in closing, I am here and alive and kicking, the story is alive and kicking (prolly even moreso than I am) and you should all expect the next installment very very soon. I will try my hardest to get the next up soon after that as a kind of apology and appreciation for everyone being so patient.
Feel free to ask me any further concerns, threats, thoughts, (this means you too artists! D:< ) and I will try to address them.

Ok, so, I know that this latest post is once again criminally late, but what with conflicting schedules and Finals eating us up like OM NOM NOM, it was just how it all worked out. We planned to release these with some consistency, and while that seems like a pipe-dream in the middle of finals week, it's still something we're trying our best for. Again, thanks for the patience.

--I was almost done with the FF10 story arc when I realized that I never put Isaaru in it, even as a cameo role. Not that I particularly like that character, but you can never have too much Quinton Flynn. Okay, okay, we are super uber late with the new chapter, and if you've been keeping up with the story you deserve an explanation.
Well, Jae's computer completely broke down only a few days after the new chapter was finished in proofreading and coding. After the wait to get it fixed became longer than we liked, Jae moved to an older, crappier computer to try and get at least a few drawings done to at least get it posted. Because of her effort, we managed to get it all completed and ready to post.
THEN, I went to post it up on this Livejournal, relieved that we had finally finished it despite such a problem. However, it turned out that the post was actually too fricking large for it, not by word count but by size. This is quite a problem for me because this latest chapter marks the point in which the installments begin getting a bit longer than the first set. (For those who are interested, the earlier chapters ranged from 12 -14 pages, and this latest one is a whopping 17.)
Anyways, after some brainstorming I decided to start hosting the chapters on the domain of a good friend of mine, specifically twilight.nu . Those of you who Friended this account or just don't feel like updating any bookmarks, don't worry: even though they'll be posted on a seperate site, I'm still going to link to it here, instead of clicking on the LJ cut you'll be clicking on a link. Any comments or anything on the chapters can still be posted in the comment system here on the post it's linked to, just like before.
I'm still getting some stuff smoothed out regarding the site and trying my hardest to get it posted, so please, I once again ask for your patience. If it's any consolation, this new one has an ending that would make Kubo Tite dance, so hopefully it's well worth the wait.

Real quick here: cute Halloween picture Darkval drew!
Now: This World was actually one of the last ones to be added. I used references from certain goings-on in the first Kingdom Hearts, and also the Promyvions in Final Fantasy XI. Aside from that, I don't know what else to say about it, except that I absolutely love Jae's pictures for this chapter. I had certain emotions in mind while writing it, and she captured it perfectly in the art.
